Speaker Biographies

Joseph R. Hyman, Founder and CEO

Since he established the company in 1998, Joe Hyman has led the remarkable growth of VIZERGY as it has evolved from a software company into a comprehensive Internet marketing-services firm exclusively for hotels and resorts. With a broad and rich background in the online-travel industry, Joe provides experienced leadership in the disciplines of building website traffic and brand development.

Joe’s long background in sales, marketing and operations development have given him the skills and tools needed to create scalable organizations with highly acclaimed success.

Under Joe’s leadership, the company was a pioneer in the Internet hospitality-marketing field, creating effective solutions and reservation tools combined with the highest levels of personalized service.

Before establishing VIZERGY, Joe operated an independent company that represented Johnson & Johnson and Depuy Orthopedics. In that capacity, he promoted more than 15,000 surgical products in addition to providing technical expertise to surgeons; organizing local educational programs; and forecasting, planning and developing sales strategies.

Jennifer Myers, Vice President, Brand Development

Jennifer Myers serves as Vice President of Brand Development for VIZERGY and is responsible for strengthening VIZERGY's relationships with major hotel brands and property management groups, both clients and prospects alike. Jennifer’s progressively successful career includes hands-on experience in sales, marketing, operations management, revenue management, quality assurance, analytical reporting, group facilitation and maintaining strategic industry and community alliances.

Over the last 13 years, she has worked directly with a variety of hotel brands including Marriott, Hilton and IHG. Jennifer also worked for McKibbon Hotel Management Inc. in Savannah, GA and for B.F. Saul Company Hotel Division as the Regional Director of Sales and Marketing. Jennifer has received numerous sales and marketing awards including the prestigious Courtyard by Marriott "Sales Leader of the Year Award."

Jennifer also served on the Fairfax County, Virginia Convention and Visitors Association Marketing Council and, over the last six years, has been active on the board of directors of the Northern Virginia Chapter of the National Business Travel Association (NBTA). Currently, she is serving as Chairman of the Board and also participates in the Chapter Presidents Council of NBTA.

Jay Waite, Director of Business Development

Jay Waite’s sales and marketing know-how will inspire your executives, managers and staff members to tackle every challenge with enthusiasm. Jay’s knack for hospitality sales and marketing will also provide insight for those looking to exceed customer expectations. Currently, Jay manages VIZERGY’s Internet marketing business for Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, Missouri, Arkansas and the west coast of Florida. A former employee of Hilton Hotels Corporation with the Hampton Brands Product and Service Development Team, Jay worked closely with Franchisees and National Vendors evolving the Hampton Brands product and service initiatives. A 20 year veteran of the Hospitality Industry, Jay has extensive Hotel Operations, Sales and General Manager experience.

Mark Klayman, Director of Business Development

Mark, who has been with VIZERGY since 2001, brings loyalty, energy and experience to the table. He was the first sales manager at the company, a driving force that has helped propel VIZERGY as one of the industry’s leading hotel Internet marketing companies.

A strong foundation of hospitality sales and advertising experience, particularly in sales management, paved the way for Mark to join VIZERGY. Mark significantly increased sales at Morris Communications Corp, where he managed sales and advertising for one of the largest visitor guides in the country. At Elite Island Resorts, a group of resorts in Central Florida and the Caribbean, he managed Internet marketing and e-commerce, increasing Web traffic by 35%. He has been named sales representative of the year for multiple companies, generating impressive sales numbers and expanding territories.

Mark is currently responsible for direct sales and managing VIZERGY client relationships, focusing on large Property Management Groups (PMGs) on the east coast of the U.S. He has managed client relationships with top management companies such as Coakley & Williams, Pacifica and Hersha Hospitality. Besides having a portfolio of over 300 clients that have generated over $500 million in Internet bookings, Mark’s people skills and client management skills have helped boost client relationships and strengthen VIZERGY’s brand visibility among PMGs. Mark’s enthusiasm, 10 plus years of hospitality experience and knack for developing relationships make him a valuable part of the VIZERGY team.
