Sugar Bay Resort and Spa is a newly independent (formerly under the Wyndham flag) 294 room resort located on beautiful St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands. This luxurious property largely caters to travel shoppers seeking leisure trips, weddings, and romantic honeymoons or getaways.
Business Needs
Sugar Bay’s goal was to reach and convert customers in a new target market. Specifically, they sought improved search engine rankings and website traffic, a user-friendly booking process and a serious boost in direct online revenue—with a goal of increasing their Internet bookings to 25% of their total revenue, up from 6%.
Approach
Vizergy recommended a modern, custom website and mobile site in order to reach a new target audience. The new sites would both adhere to the latest in custom usability trends, including professional, layered imagery and effective scrolling that sells both the property and exotic location. Search engine optimization and pay-per-click ads were included in their digital strategy in order to maximize their visibility online, and the integration of a social hub also played a key role in customer engagement. The goal was to produce at least a 10:1 ROI in year one.
